CHAIRMAN'S REPORT At the end of my first year as Chairman it gives me great pleasure to be able to report that last year proved to be one of the most successful, if not the most successful year, in the Club's history. Many athletes have made significant progress, and several gained international and representative honours. Also, all of our teams had successful seasons and our senior Mens and Ladies teams gained promotion. Pride of place should probably go to the Senior Men who as champions of Division 3 have been promoted to Division 2 of the BAL. Our SouthernLeague Men's team also finished towards the top of their Division. Our Ladies team finished high enough in their Division to gain promotion to Division 1 of the Southern League. This team includes a number of under 15 girl athletes, which bodes well for the future of the Club as our younger male athletes also performed well during the year. Our Veterans team also won their league and performed creditably at the end of season final. Together with the continuing success of our road and cross country runners, it seems to me that the future of the Club looks very bright. The Team Managers will be providing further details of these successes in their reports. On behalf of the Committee and all members of the Club, I would like to thank the Team Managers, Coaches, Officials, and all helpers who each made valuable contributions to the successes of last year. I would also like to give my personal thanks to all Committee members who each give their time and expertise, and work extremely hard to ensure the smooth running of the Club. Finally, I would like to wish all members of the Club a very healthy and successful 2008, a year which sees the 60th anniversary of our Club. A number of activities are being planned to celebrate our diamond anniversary, and further details of these and other activities, designed to raise funds to provide two additional lanes and a modest stand for our track, will be released in the near future.
