With
another good display, Basingstoke & MHAC secured 3rd spot in the BAL
National 1 Division with a 2nd placing in the final match of the season at Derby. On a gloriously
warm and sunny day Basingstoke's athletes were in great form, again it was
consitency of performance that saw Basingstoke
through.
There
was lots of good efforts and
congratulations must go Ben Hazell who notched up a PB in the Pole
Vault with 4.50m and a win. While Mark Berridge
scored a double and proved to be the master of timing and then led home
the 4X400m Relay Team. Thanks to John Hutchins for doubling up at the last
minute to score good points in the 5000m while newcomer Alex Green got off to a
good start in the High Jump with a 2nd. Steve Jeffery another first timer also
did well in both the Steeplechase and 5000m and recorded best times and
importantly was ahead of his Kent AC rival in in the
5K. For the first time this season we had a different 4 out for the 4x100
to those that did the 4x400m and we did well in both with the Sprint Relay Team
2nd while the Long Relay Team scored a win.
Other winners during the day, Andy Blow B 110m
Hurdles, Sam Sleap B High Jump, Sam Sleap B Pole Vault equalling his PB.
