Hampshire Cross Country Champs on 10th January 2009 saw Basingstoke Athletes once again at Dibden, on slightly changed courses, on a crisp day with solid ground underfoot.

 

Under 13 Boys and Girls did a grand job at getting us off to some good results, in partcular Charlotte Chalwin in 5th.  Team results:  Boys 9th, Girls 5th

 

Under 15 Boys got in the Team Medals in 3rd with Chris Ladhams 5th, Toby Smith 9th, Louie Penny 26th, Matthew Thornton 34th.  Under 15 girls ran well in a tough field but were short of one runner for a team.

 

Under 17 Men battle hard with Jon Bradford 5th, Stephen Reid 8th, Darren Carr 13th and 'flying' Sam Bevan 16th bringing the team in to 2nd place.  Our 2 Under 17 women placed very well with Sophie Smith 9th and sister Katie 10th.

 

Under 20 men thought they were on for team medals but failed to get a full team of 4 out on the day.  Good finish from Dan Francis 5th, Dan Short 12th and Joe Flitcroft 13th.

 

Senior Women were once again very low on BMH competitors but the 2 that competed had excellent results with Sarah Bolton 15th and Zoe Collins 24th.

 

Senior Men finally got us an individual medal with John Hutchins finishing strongly in 3rd.  Senior combined Team were 14th with our 4 Vets managing 13th Vet Team.
