Fourteen Teams toed the line for the New years Eve Club Relays held at the Memorial Park. This was the largest turnout for 4 years and some 56 athletes of all ages were in action.

Leg 1, Team M led through Lucy Wildash with Team E 2nd, and Team L 3rd. Bryn Smith held onto that lead on leg 2, with Teams E & L still 2nd and 3rd.

One leg 3 it all changed as Don Powell took Team E into the lead with Team C moving into 2nd and M now down to 3rd. The Final leg saw E with Charlotte Chalwin and C with Joe Flitcroft battle it out and there was only a second in it at the end, while Tom Sycklemore held on for 3rd with Team M.

A very fast finishing Dave Ragan took the Course record with a 6m02s clocking and brought Team B up to 4th. The battle for the victory saw Charlotte Chalwin post the fastest Female time of 7m43s

British Athletics League Match 3 Gateshead 1st Aug 09 - Results
As you can see we were only 29 points off 2nd and though eveyone tried hard some results just did not go our way, however with one match to go we are still 4th in the table. Congratulations to Andy Blow on being man of the match with a win in the 400m H with 51.96s, other winners were Richard Fox B 400m H and John Hutchins 5000m.Everybody had to work hard and we were short in numbers but we filled every event and congratulations to Joe Flitcroft who produced a new personal best in the Hammer with 32.60m and a 4th spot.Thanks to Liam McGarrigle for coming along as cover and for doing the Triple Jump and so taking the pressure of others. It was long day for those who travelled up on the day especially but thanks once again to all for their contributions, Team spirit was brilliant and the last match should be a more relaxed event.

U20 Combined Events International Woodside Stadium, Watford, 25/26th July - Results
18 year old Sam Sleap competed in the Decathlon in his first international for Great Britain. Two days of solid performances with a personal best in the high jump of 1.99m (some 23cms above his own height), pb in shot 13.06m equal pb in 100m and pole vault, he completed the ten events with a total points score of 6884 just 40 points shy of his personal best score in this very demanding event. Finishing an excellent 4th  place in the under 20 men’s age group, the Great Britain team won the overall competition.

Emma Buckett won silver in the Inter Girls Long Jump with 5.42m while Becky Curtis-Harris got bronze in the Inter Girls 80m H with 11.48s having done 11.41s in the Ht. Sam Sleap finished 5th in the Senior Boys Long Jump with a leap of 6.61m

BMHAC New Year Eve Relay - Results
On a very cold and icy day 11 teams started the annual event for Club members with a few parents taking part as well. With athletes, coaches, parents and friends present there must have been nearing a 100 people there for this event. With all the Teams a mixture of very junior athletes through to the very senior ones the lead changed a few times during the event with Chris Ladhams bringing home Team D to win the coveted Club Batons hand made by Dave Hope
