The League
Up to and including 2022, boys and girls meetings were on different days.
2023 sees a new trial format with girls and boys competing on the same day.
To gain capacity in the timetables to facilitate a higher number of non scorers, events will vary from match to match.
For example in match 2, the 1500m/1200m will be replaced by the 800m/600m and in the field, the hammer and discus will be replaced by the javelin & shot. As a result, event times may vary. Up until 2022,
There is scoring competition for the U13, U15 and U17 age groups with each club permitted to field two scorers (“A”and “B”) per event.
The Alder Valley is a ‘development’ league which means it allows athletes to compete as ‘non-scorers’.
This offers all club athletes the perfect opportunity to gain track and field experience or set a time or distance.
The league is made up of 9 clubs who compete over 4 fixtures.
Under 11s
There are no events for Under 11s in 2023.
