HAMPSHIRE XC LEAGUEA reminder the season kicks off two weeks today with a home fixture at Popham Airfield just off the A303 on 12th October.Thanks to those that have already offered to help, however we are still very short of car park & course marshals.Owing to ground works at the site we require more assistance than usual for parking, and are planning two shifts , the first from 9.30am-12.30pm and a second one from 12.00pm-3.30pm.Even if you can help for some of that time it would be appreciated.We are still short of on course marshals too, these will be required from 11.30am-3.30pm, or again, if you can do part thereof, that will help.Please let Terry Wegg know if you can help in any waywegg4@tiscali.co.uk Thanks ... SCCL Race 1 - SUNDAY 3 NOVEMBER 2024It is only 5-weeks until our ‘home’ race in the SCCL cross country season, and therefore please expect requests for help (marshalling, catering) as we get closer, so if you are not running, I hope that you can keep the date free to be available to volunteer.Since COVID, we haven’t had catering at our SCCL event. However, there has been enough interest within the club this year to trial its reinstatement. Therefore, we are welcoming back the hot sausages in a roll, with teas and cakes. More details to follow.We hope you have the time to enjoy our race, either as a runner or helper. The course is beautiful (especially in the Autumn colours), and it is a super-friendly event that you will love. National Cross Country The delayed nationals took place last weekend at Weston Park, Telford.The rearranged race , delayed because of flooding at the original date in February meant that we had less runners than usual in attendance. However 3 athletes did make the trip with Celeste Vickers comfortably in the top half of finishers out of 247 Under 13 girls.
