The Keough New Year's Eve RelaysWe're pleased to announce that the traditional NYE relays will again take place at War Memorial Park on Wednesday 31st December. This is open to ALL club members from U9 upwards, plus and family members (parents, grandparents, siblings) if they wish to take part. As a reminder , this is a 4 person relay with each leg being approximately 2km long. Teams are selected on the day from all those wishing to run and are drawn across all abilities and age groups. Typically each team has an Under 11, a junior athlete (U13-U15) a senior athlete (U17+) and a road/vet runner. This event is FREE, no pre entry required, just register on the day by 10.30 LATEST. Basingstoke & Mid Hants Athletic Club
Hampshire League, round 2 - Aldershot Well done to those athletes racing today at Wellesley Woods. We had 91 runners across all age groups including a very impressive 24 youngsters taking on the Under 11s races that do not form part of the HCCL. First League race of the day was the Under 13 girls with four of our athletes. Emily Battershall secured a top 10 place and was followed home by Nora Grewal, Daisy Renard and Hattie Stokes-Wright making her HCCL debut!Dylan Emerit was first of our Under 13 boys with Ted Parkhouse, Freddie Champion, Hugh McEwan and Josh McGeown also taking on the 3km course. Harriet Saunders was 3rd and Amy Kilner-Smith 9th in the Under 15 girls, with Emma Jinks Evie Bowditch and Celeste Vickers completing the club's turnout.A strong turnout in the Under 15 boys with BMH having 8 finishers. First back was Oliver Maxwell with Edward Smith also in the top 20. Ian Bahia, Liam Neil, Brandon Coleman, Harry Field, Caspar Morris and Blake Goddard were our other competitors. Further club strength in depth demonstrated by our Under 17 women where we again had 8 athletes. Ava Spiers took 2nd place with her sister Mia taking 6th. Behind those Lily-Mae Lancaster Evans and Anna Edwards secured top 20 spots with Lola Ashton, Abigail Spencer, Georgi Barrett and Katie Dawson all racing well for the club. The Under 17 Men's race had 5 BMH vests on show, Matt Davey finishing just ahead of Daniel Banks and Jack Ainsley, with Samuel Plackett and Tobi Harris also competing.Jack and Tobi also making their HCCL debuts.A strong run in the Senior Women's race saw under 20 Immi Edwards take 4th place overall. Kate Towerton and Gemma Bigg the other club scorers. Phoebe Harris (U20), Poppy Bigg and vets Sally Renard and Cat Coveney our other representatives. The final race of the day was - as usual - Senior Men with BMH having 23 athletes in action. Tom Dewey (18th), Oli Smith (21st), Ethan Jung (28th), Dan Short & Boyd Jno-Lewis our scoring 5. Ben Nutley, Pete Watkeys and Michal Bursak were our first 3 vets and our other finishers were Alex Bigg, Jack Hedderly (U20), Alex Hall, Jack Messenger, Kieran Ruffle, Chris Furness (V50), Jack Patterson, Nick Battisson (V40), Alex Hamilton (V50), Mark Slaney (V60), Andy Goddard (V40), Mark Norris (V50), Geln Jepson, Kevin Nicholson (V50) & Jon Vickers (V40).
